Congratulations to Danny Gerrard (left) and Shane Burka (right), who work in the Production Facility at Bond It, who have recently completed the CompEx Foundation Course and passed with flying colours.
CompEx Certification is an internationally recognised course and qualification in explosive atmospheres. The CompEx Foundation qualification has been designed to provide an introduction into potentially explosive or flammable environments where gases, vapours and dust can form a hazardous atmosphere.
Danny and Shane are key members of our Production Team and work in the Atex area where our solvent based and flammable products are manufactured and produced.
As part of the course training they received an overview of hazardous area classification, safe working practices and basic protection concepts used for certifying Ex equipment (covering the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR 2002) and risk assessments.)
The Ex F CompEx Foundation course provides candidates with an understanding of the regulations, directives and standards associated with locations containing hazardous atmospheres. Completing this course continues to build our H&S knowledge in all areas of production and gives Danny and Shane the freedom to continue to develop their knowledge before undertaking more technical qualifications.
Both said the course had given them much more information about the hazards and concerns of the job along with a better understanding of how things should be managed moving forward. A difficult and highly technical course to complete, they have proved themselves to be very capable and, like us, are pleased and proud of what they’ve achieved.
Well done guys!
