The engines roared to life as the TCR UK 2024 season kicked off in style last weekend. Our Area Sales Manager, Ian Miller alongside his customers BJ Mammone and Alliance Remedial Supplies enjoyed a weekend of action-packed racing, with our very own Adam Crossman, Area Sales Manager for South West and South Central, promoted to pit crew.
Set against the backdrop of ideal weather, anticipation was high as we geared up for a weekend of high-speed thrills and intense competition.
Qualifying: Saturday morning saw our team hit the track for the first round of qualifying. Despite a strong performance, we secured the 6th fastest lap time, placing us in 6th on the grid for Race 1.
Race 1: The first race proved to be a rollercoaster. Contact at turn 2 dealt a blow to our championship aspirations, compounded by an unexpected issue with one of the front wheel shock absorbers. Despite a tyre blowout and a fire in the wheel arch, our pit crew were on hand for a swift repair. Despite this, a recurring issue forced us back to the pits, with Brad battling both the competition and a cockpit full of smoke. Nevertheless, our determination remained unyielding.
Race 2: Undeterred by the setbacks, we embarked on Race 2 from the back of the grid, courtesy of a penalty. Brad carved his way through the field, showcasing his speed and skill to secure a commendable 6th-place finish.
Final Race: As the sun set on the weekend, we entered the final race from a more promising 6th-place grid position. With adrenaline pumping and spirits high, we unleashed our full potential, engaging in exhilarating battles to ultimately clinch an impressive 4th-place finish.
Amidst the adrenaline-fueled action, our customers enjoyed an unforgettable experience, with Darren's son Aidan even getting a taste of the pit lane and the cockpit excitement.
